ALFREDO DI STÉFANO (1926–2014)

An original personal jersey of Alfredo Di Stéfano, one of the most celebrated footballers of the 20th century. The jersey was personally owned by Di Stéfano and comes directly from his collection.

The circa 2005 Adidas River Plate jersey, size L, features the club’s iconic red diagonal sash, with ALFREDO and number 1 to the reverse.

Its documented provenance gives the piece particular collectible significance. The jersey was offered as part of Alfredo Di Stéfano’s estate by Julien’s Auctions on 22 September 2021: Lot 981, “Property From The Estate of Alfredo Di Stefano,” Sale No. 3302.

The River Plate connection is especially meaningful in the context of Di Stéfano’s career, as the Argentine club was associated with the formative years of his professional football career before he became one of the defining legends of the sport.

Rather than simply being a commemorative jersey bearing a famous name, this is a personally owned Alfredo Di Stéfano artifact with documented estate provenance.
