Ben Hogan (1912-1997). American professional golfer is considered one of the greatest golfers in history. The same age as two of the other greatest golfers of the 20th century: Sam Snead and Byron Nelson, Hogan is known for his significant influence on swing theory and his legendary ability to hit the ball hard. His nine victories in golf's majors put him tied with Gary Player and fourth overall, behind Jack Nicklaus (18 victories), Tiger Woods (14 victories) and Walter Hagen (11 victories).
