Description

Certified Authentic Andy Holt Autograph Pictured.

Andy (Andrew) Holt (1978) is an English former professional footballer who last played as a defender for Corby Town.

His Hull City career was off to a good start; he played 30 times in his first season. However, the following year he found himself over-claimed, having been loaned first to Barnsley and then to Shrewsbury Town. In the 2003–04 season, he only started six of his 25 games that season. He found himself moving to Wrexham for free. At Wrexham he made 86 appearances, scoring 10 goals. He took part in the club's Football League Trophy win in 2005. At the end of his two-year contract, he was offered a deal by League One Northampton Town, allowing him to prove himself in the next league.

In his first season at Northampton, having been snapped up in the Bosman transfer by manager John Gorman, capable of playing in many positions, he was used as an assistant, he played 37 games, none of which were on the bench, which was the main problem of his career, and scored twice. He was left by the club at the end of the 2006–07 season. However, at the end of the 2009/2010 season, Holt turned down a new two-year contract with Northampton. But Holt signed a new two-year contract with Northampton on June 9, a month after turning down a previous offer.

In July 2012, following his release from Northampton, Holt returned to former Northampton City manager Ian Sampson at the local Conference North side, Corby Town. However, in August 2012, Holt was forced to retire from football due to a knee injury.
