He was the personal physician and second of world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, as well as many other boxing champions. Known in popular culture as "Doctor Wrestling", Pacheco left Ali's team in the mid-1970s after Ali refused his advice to retire from the sport. Over the next two decades, Pacheco was a featured boxing analyst for several television networks, including NBC and Showtime. He also became a self-taught author and artist, with most of his work focusing on his boxing career and his youth.
