Frank Zane (1942). American bodybuilder. He started bodybuilding at the age of 14 to get rid of self-doubt. He was distinguished by his aesthetic physique, with which he defeated more massive athletes in competitions, even the young Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1968. Before taking first place in the Mr. Olympia competition in 1977, Frank Zane made several attempts to win. But he came only fourth in 1972, second in 1974 and second again in 1976. The highest result in Frank’s sports career is a three-time victory at the Mr. Olympia competition: in 1977, 1978 and 1979. Later, in 1980, 1982, 1983, he took 3rd, 2nd and 4th places, respectively.
