Gavin McCann (1978) is an English footballer who played as a midfielder.
In 1995, he made his debut in adult football playing for the Everton club team, where he spent three seasons, taking part in 11 championship matches.
His play for this team attracted the attention of representatives of the coaching staff of the Sunderland club, which he joined in 1998. He played for the Sunderland club for the next five seasons of his playing career. He spent most of his time with Sunderland as the team's main player.
In 2003, he signed a contract with the Aston Villa club, where he spent the next four years of his career. While playing for Aston Villa, he also mostly appeared on the field in the main team.
In 2007 he moved to the Bolton Wanderers club, for which he played 4 seasons. He ended his professional football career playing for the Bolton Wanderers team in 2011.
