Description

Certified Authentic autograph on photo.

Pete Sampras (1971) - American tennis player of Greek origin, 14-time Grand Slam singles champion, was world number one for a total of 286 weeks, setting the record for the longest tenure as world number one among men. The record stood until 2012, when it was broken by Roger Federer. Recognized as one of the greatest tennis players in history. Features of the playing style: aggressive play, characterized by a powerful serve and constant approaches to the net, both after the first and after the second serve. Powerful, reliable forehand (forehand) with little spin, with high ball speed, one-handed backhand (backhand) with good spin, but less reliable than the forehand (almost the only conditionally weak point in Sampras’ game), filigree volley, excellent smash (Sampras's signature blow, thanks to which the press often called him the “Jordan of tennis”), and reverse (overhead backhand). The main tactic is to get to the net as quickly as possible and finish the rally with a volley. Pete Sampras achieved the best results on fast surfaces - grass and concrete, and was least successful on the slowest surface - dirt.
