Description
Certified Authentic autograph on paper (C 804). Charles Aznavour (1924-2018) - French singer, composer, poet, writer and actor of Armenian origin. Aznavour wrote about 1,300 songs, played in 60 films and sold more than 200 million records. According to a joint survey by Time magazine and CNN, Aznavour was recognized as the best pop performer of the 20th century and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. From May 5, 2009 until his death, he was the Ambassador of Armenia to Switzerland and the country’s permanent representative at the UN headquarters. He lived the last 40 years of his life in Switzerland. He was criticized in France for publicly declaring dissatisfaction with the French government's plans to introduce a 75% tax on people whose income exceeds 1 million euros and for moving to Switzerland for this reason. He continued active concert activity until his death. Over his 85-year career, Aznavour released 294 albums and held about 1,100 concerts in 94 countries.
