AYN RAND (1905–1982)

First published in 1957, “Atlas Shrugged” is Ayn Rand’s most expansive novel and the central literary expression of her intellectual legacy. Through its narrative, Rand developed themes of individualism, reason, creative independence and the role of the individual in society, presenting in fictional form many of the ideas associated with her philosophy of Objectivism. The novel became one of the best-known American works of the 20th century associated with philosophical and political-economic debate.

The volume retains its original blue cloth binding with gilt detailing and its protective slipcase. Of particular bibliographical importance is the limitation page stating that the special Tenth Anniversary Edition was restricted to two thousand copies signed by the author. The number “28” has been entered by hand; according to the PSA authentication letter, this numeral is written in an unknown hand and is not attributed to Ayn Rand.

The authenticity of Ayn Rand’s signature is confirmed by an international PSA Letter of Authenticity, certificate No. AR03109, dated August 20, 2026. The combination of Rand’s authenticated autograph, the low limitation number and the anniversary edition gives the volume substantial collectible significance at the intersection of literature, philosophy and the history of American thought.
