Description

An authentic 1800-year-old bronze coin of the Roman Empire. Such coins were used by ordinary people throughout the Roman Empire. It was these coins that were used to buy loaves of bread and bottles of wine in ancient Roman markets; or perhaps they may have constituted the daily wages of a laborer or a legionary.

These Roman bronze coins were called "Follis", Latin for "bag", indicating that these coins were often used in large quantities for transactions, given their relatively low face value. The obverse of the coins depicts various Roman emperors such as Constantine the Great, Diocletian and Maxentius. These coins are minted from bronze, a strong metal that is not subject to corrosion.
