ALEXANDER KRILOV (b. 1964)

The art object “Iron Mike”, created by Alexander Krilov, combines an authentic autograph of Mike Tyson — one of the most iconic figures in boxing history — with a contemporary sculptural form. The signature is applied to an original Everlast boxing glove and integrated into a conceptual composition.

At the center is a red boxing glove bearing the autograph, set within a metal structure that forms the silhouette of a human torso. The structure is composed of black metal rods, creating a visual interplay between chaos and order.

The work operates through contrast: softness and rigidity, control and raw energy, sport and art. The autograph functions not only as proof of authenticity but as a symbol of strength, discipline, and the era of professional boxing.

The piece transforms a sports artifact into a contemporary art object, creating a dialogue between athletic culture and modern artistic expression.
