Description
This mixed media sculpture, created in 2026, is a conceptual statement exploring the human journey from creation to the state of inner acceptance. The work brings together key references from art history into a unified philosophical composition.
The face, rendered in a state of meditative calm, refers to Michelangelo’s Adam — a symbol of pure potential and the divine origin of human nature.
In contrast, the handprints on the back echo Rembrandt’s Return of the Prodigal Son. One hand appears masculine, the other feminine, forming a dual symbol of support — strength and tenderness, protection and compassion.
The lower part of the sculpture dissolves into a chaotic metal structure, sharply contrasting with the classical form above. This material contrast emphasizes the instability from which human identity emerges.
The work suggests that wholeness is achieved not only through origin, but through the experience of acceptance.
