Description
This lot brings together a commemorative button from the 1963 March on Washington and a printed copy of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Both elements are directly connected to one of the defining moments of the American Civil Rights Movement, which reshaped social and political history in the United States and beyond.
The button was produced by Allied Printing of New York and measures 2.25 inches in diameter. Its design, featuring black and white hands joined in unity, became one of the enduring visual symbols of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, held on August 28, 1963, in Washington, D.C.
The printed speech references Dr. King’s historic address delivered at the Lincoln Memorial, a defining moment in modern history that articulated a powerful vision of equality, justice, and civil rights.
The objects are preserved in good condition. Together they combine documentary and visual elements of the era, forming a coherent historical record. The lot holds strong cultural and historical significance as a collectible archival ensemble.
