Description

A signed 12-inch UK vinyl single edition of Queen’s “Back Chat / Staying Power,” released in 1982 and autographed on the front cover by Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Roger Taylor, and Brian May. The signatures were executed in different inks during The Works Tour in 1984. According to the original owner, the autographs were obtained at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England, on August 31 or September 1, 1984.

“Back Chat” remains one of Queen’s more stylistically experimental recordings of the early 1980s, reflecting the band’s transition into a more rhythm-driven sound during that period. The Works Tour became a defining chapter in Queen’s live performance history and reinforced the group’s position within the international rock landscape. Autographs acquired during the tour itself add a direct historical connection to the band’s touring era.

The cover remains in excellent condition. Freddie Mercury signed in blue ballpoint pen, John Deacon and Roger Taylor in black ink, while Brian May signed in silver marker. The vinyl record itself is not included. The piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Tracks.

Music memorabilia connected to original Queen releases and bearing signatures from all four members of the band occupy a significant place within the field of twentieth-century rock collectibles. The work is equally suited to a curated music collection or as a presentation object associated with the history of British rock music and vinyl culture.
